Are You Hiding Out As A Christian?

Let’s face it, being a Christian is not popular today! In fact, being a Christian throughout history has been difficult for many. But God does not call us to have an easy life, he calls us to have a life following him no matter what.

The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to his friend Timothy in II Timothy 2: 1-3, guiding him to continue the work they started. “Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You see, Paul knew he was about to be beheaded for his beliefs. He told his followers “ you have heard me teach truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. Endure suffering with me, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

As I looked back on my life, I wonder how many people knew that I was a Christian. How would they know? What words have I said to show them? Have I loved them as God loved me? Have I been hiding out as a Christian?

God wants us to live boldly for him! He sent his son to die on the cross for us, so that we might have eternal life with him.

This week as Easter approaches and we consider all that has been done for us, let’s be bold! Let’s not hide behind small talk. What is the Lord leading you to do in boldness? Deuteronomy 31:6- Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Blessings Sweet Friends,

  1. I am loving your blog posts. When I was working my co-workers did know I was a Christian and in the line of work I did this made me the extreme minority in the company and really a minority in the majority of the I/DD services field. Christians are known for our conservative values. The I/DD field is very liberal with a huge focus on worldly human rights. I really struggled morally having to uphold client rights that did not match my Christian values/morals. But legally I was required to. In not doing so was considered abuse and that could lead to legal/criminal charges. It is clear for me to see and understand why so few Christians stayed in this line of work.

    1. Thank you Teresa, that means so much to me. I’ve been in similar situations at work and finally decided it was time to stand up and shout it out! So happy we’ve got one another!

  2. I was at work one day and the topic of Christianity came up and a coworker said to me that he forgot I was a Christian. That hit me hard. I thought I was living a life that showed Jesus. I’m working on making sure Jesus can be seen in me.
