“Good One God”

I chose “Good One God” for the name of my Blog because there’s a story behind this sweet phrase. Driving my son to hockey practice one morning, there was an incredible sunrise. Now, if your child has not played ice hockey, this is not for the faint of heart. Not only is it cold in the rink, but the times for practices and games range from the wee hours of the morning to the late hours of the day.

As a christian mom, I tried to take every opportunity possible to point out the small Godly miracles daily to my children. So I began telling my son to look at the painting God created in the sky. There were majestic purples, soft pinks, and oranges so brilliant that were blended together so perfectly. I remember feeling as if this was truly one of a kind, and I was sharing my enthusiasm. My son, still quiet from such an early morning, had his face pressed up against the passenger side glass and was peering out. I heard a big sweet sigh as if he had something to say. He lingered with his thoughts, and I didn’t rush him, he continued to look at the glorious miracle that God had created as a beautiful start to our morning. And then, I heard it…. “Good One God!” my son said. My mama heart melted into a huge puddle right there in the front seat of my big Dodge Durango.

I remember asking him to repeat his sweet words, “Good One God!” I heard it echoing through my mind and thought of all the things that God did on a daily basis that were so good and glorious.

That phrase, as simple as it is, has powerful meaning. It became a phrase used often in our family. If we saw a beautfiul flower blooming, a brand new puppy playing, a hummingbird flitting by a flower, or a sunrise in the morning.

So, I challenge you. What has God done that is good for you? What has he created that you find marvelous? Spend some time praying and thinking about what you find is good.

Blessings sweet friends,

Stacy
